3 Healthy Weight Loss Plans For Teen Girls

By

Healthy weight loss plans for teenage girls did not exist until technology was named as one of the culprits behind the rising of the obesity rates among American teenagers. At first, dietitians thought that it is the introduction of extra-large fast food that was behind this obesity problem. However, new studies revealed that it is the sedentary life of these teenagers that cause them to become obese or fat. It is the lack of physical exercise, rather than an increase in calorie intake that has caused some teenagers to gain weight. With the advent of computers, for example, the demand for physical work has declined and the number of teens getting fatter has increased.
Fearing the health risk and insecurity that obesity brings, many teenagers have entered the scene of diet and exercise. However, some of them have misunderstood the idea of a healthy diet. Some of them even starve themselves, risking nutritional deficiencies that result to anemia, poor development and irregular monthly period.
With all these health risks that poor eating habits bring, it is just right that these teenagers will be guided as to how a healthy diet should be. Therefore, in this article, the three basic steps that would help them solve their problem with obesity be shown.
Losing weight for teens works similarly with reducing weight for adults. Generally, exercising and eating a healthy diet are the best and most effective ways to lose weight, but for a safe weight loss program, consultation, which is the first method for losing weight should be included.
Step 1: Consult your physician.
Prior to starting any healthy weight loss plan, it is recommended that teen girls consult their physicians. For teenagers, this is of utmost importance as there are exercises such as cardio-exercise that requires them to exert energy, a medical sound advice from their physician would help them determine if they have preexisting health conditions that might be triggered if the body is subjected to too strenuous exercises. Other than seeking for medical advice, consulting a physician will give them insights on how to go on with their diets without wasting a couple of dollars.
Step 2: Eat a balanced and the right kind of foods.
Diet for teenage girls requires them not to skip meals as this would only lead them to binge eating afterwards. When the body does not get the right amount of food, it goes into protecting itself by prompting them to eat more than the right amount of food.
For breakfast, they can choose whole wheat toast with a pat of peanut butter and a banana or a bowl of whole grain cereal with nonfat milk, instead of the sugary kids' cereal.
During lunch time, sandwiches and lean meats are some of the great choices. They can either go for a grilled chicken sandwich with a baked potato or tuna mixed with low-fat mayonnaise. At snack line, fruits, vegetables or low-calorie energy bars will do, however.
At dinner, pasta and salad are the few of the best options. In case salad is prepared, grilled chicken should be preferred over the crispy one.
Nevertheless, they should not take eating a balanced diet as deprivation. Teenagers should find alternatives that are at par with the taste of the foods that they love eating.
Step 3: Exercise.
The third and final step that is needed for them to lose weight is an exercise, which is considered to be the most difficult step to follow. The thought of exercising with treadmill or videos alone makes exercising the most difficult step. However, finding the right exercise and doing it with a friend, or group will keep the motivation to exercise high. They can either go for cardio or aerobic exercises.
As a whole, consulting their physician, eating a balanced and the right kind of foods and exercising are the three basic healthy weight loss plans that teen girls should consider. By following these three basic steps, they can be assured of a healthy life.
